Rules

Although the staff of this site will attempt to keep objectionable content from being published, it is impossible to review all posts all of the time. Messages express the views of the author only and are not endorsed or condoned by the site or its volunteer staff. Hence, you agree not to hold us responsible for the content of any messages on the site.
We reserve the right to remove, edit, move or lock (close) any contribution made by any member at any time.
PLEASE DO NOT...
- Post anything of an inappropriate nature, this includes: sexually explicit, vulgar, hateful, obscene, malicous or illegal messages or use any such depictions in your avatar (user image). These forums are visible to the public and are visited by thousands of people many of whom are children. Discussions of this type will NOT be tolerated!
- Join if you're under 13 and do not have parental consent. According to the law, no children under the age of 13 are permitted to register for a membership without their parents consent. Childen aged 13 and over are eligible for an account under their own free will (though you are advised to seek permission from a parent or guardian). All children under the age of 13 wishing to register for an account must submit a COPPA registration form which can be found within the registration process. A parental signature issuing their child with permission to join MUST be mailed to the administrator before their accounts are activated. All members found to be under the age of 13 who have evidently registered under a false age and/or who haven't acquired their parents consent via the COPPA system will have their accounts terminated immediately. The COPPA system is to safeguard us from possible legal implications.
- Post links or comments encouraging and/or endorsing illegal media re-distribution. Please, this is a serious offence, if you're a fan of Joseph then please support him by purchasing his media legally. All members in violation of this rule will run the risk of having their membership terminated.
- Reveal personal information for example mobile and/or home phone numbers, addresses, email addresses may be disclosed, however, please be careful who you disclose this piece of information to.
- Post negative comments based on race, age, ethnicity, weight, sexual orientation or religion.
- Engage in personal attacks or flames. If an argument or debate breaks out and you feel the need to argue a case, please do so appropriately and argue with the post's content, not with the poster who made it. (Please pay close attention to rule #11)
- Use flagrant profanity. Curse and swear words are NOT tolerated in any area of the site. There is a word filter in place which censors selected words. However, this does not excuse you from making such comments and you will find yourself punished.
- Impersonate another member. This is a very serious offence and will result in immediate expulsion from the site. Similarly, impersonating a famous person such as Joseph himself will not be tolerated and will be considered grounds for immediate removal from the site.
- Sign into another member's account. Again this is a very serious offence and these incidents can be traced. You will be banned.
- Post excessive amounts of chatspeak. We know it's difficult, but try to type out the full, real English versions of 4 (for), u (you), cuz (because), 2 (to), ne way (anyway), ppl (people) etc. Not everyone is familiar with this 'Youth' version of the English language as many of our members are from foreign countries and they may find it difficult to decipher the text.
- Feed the trolls. Trolls are people who sign up just to post messages with the only intention of disrupting the usual flow of the forum. DO NOT POST in topics created by trolls. Naturally, a moderator will see them in time and remove them. By posting in them you are only keeping the troll interested and coming back. If you ignore them, they'll go away.
- Post excessive amounts of spam. If you have a website you'd like to announce to your fellow members, feel free to but please don't add overly large images/text into your signatures to advertise it.
- Post in any other language besides English. Since this is an English site all comments must be posted in English so that our moderator's can make sure that all members are following the rules.
- The personal message system is available to all members, however, if the system is abused in anyway, you will have your account restricted. As this system is not moderated, we cannot be held responsible for any data transmitted via this system. If you feel you're being contacted by a member who is clearly abusing the system, please contact a member of staff. Each member is allocated space for up to 50 PMs to store. Should your inbox get full, please make some deletions as no one can contact you should they need to. Please note: although the PM system is not moderated, if need be the database can be examined to assess all messages sent and received.
- Backseat moderate. This is when members who have not been granted moderatorship sees it upon themselves to discipline, punish and demand things of fellow members. If you have a problem with a member, email one of the forum staff.
- Post meaningless messages just to reach the 50 post limit to access the Gallery. As of 18/11/2009, only members with 50 posts or more will have access to the Gallery. For more information, please review the help files.
In addition, members are expected to listen to the forum staff at all times. Staff have the final word on anything and everything, So don't argue! Any instructions given by a moderator should be followed and respected. If there is a question about any action taken, feel free to first bring it to that moderator directly and if necessary to the attention of the administrator:
Emails can be sent to: admin@joemcmanners.com
Disrespecting instructions or posting negative comments about the staff or their actions will not be tolerated.
PLEASE...
- Be respectful and kind to other members.
- Use appropriate topic titles. Please don't capitalize or inappropriately construct your thread titles. Moderators may choose to change the title of the topic to better engage comments from other members of the site.
- Look for existing topics before starting a new discussion. There may be a chance of the topic you had in mind being discussed elsewhere. There is a search function available to aid you in this. If duplicate threads are created, it may be deleted by a moderator.
- Check this list of rules, as they may be changed or amended at any time. Notice for any new revisions should be published, but it is your responsibility to follow and abide by these rules and guidelines. Failure to do so may result in warning and ultimately, permanent expulsion from the site.
Thanks for reading, if you abide by these guidelines, there's no reason why you can't have a fantastic time here! HAVE FUN!
